Television’s biggest night is officially underway.
The Television Academy has announced the nominees for the 78th Emmys®, celebrating the outstanding performances, series, and creative achievements that defined the past year in television.
This year’s nominations recognize a diverse collection of storytelling, from beloved comedies and emotional character-driven dramas to limited series, thrillers, and breakout performances from new voices.
Among this year’s nominees are some of television’s biggest stars, including Steve Carell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Harrison Ford, Lisa Kudrow, Gary Oldman, and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Two series led the conversation this year. Hacks made history with 24 nominations in the comedy categories, while The Pitt dominated the drama field with 25 nominations.

“The Pitt” Leads Drama Nominees
One of the biggest stories of this year’s Emmy nominations is the breakout success of The Pitt.
The HBO Max medical drama earned 25 nominations, making it the leading drama series nominee this year. The recognition extends across its ensemble cast, honoring performances from both established stars and emerging talent.
The 78th Emmy Awards, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will air Monday, September 14, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and stream on Peacock from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place September 5 and September 6, 2026.
