Jefferson White is heading back to Montana.
CBS announced that the Yellowstone alum will reprise his fan-favorite role as Jimmy Hurdstrom in a recurring capacity for season two of Marshals, which premieres Sunday, October 4th.
White’s return brings another familiar face from the Yellowstone universe into the series alongside Luke Grimes, who reprises his role as Kayce Dutton.
“I’m thrilled to dive into the world of Marshals and continue exploring the American West,” White said in a statement. “The cast and crew are stacked full of my favorite actors and filmmakers, and I’m honored to join them. Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.”
Viewers first met Jimmy as a troubled young man given an opportunity to turn his life around at the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. Over the course of Yellowstone, the rough-around-the-edges ranch hand evolved into a more confident and resilient cowboy, with his journey eventually taking him beyond Montana.
His appearance on Marshals will mark the continuation of that story following the conclusion of Yellowstone.
The series follows Kayce Dutton as he joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, bringing together his experience as a cowboy and former Navy SEAL while pursuing justice across Montana.
According to CBS, the first season of Marshals averaged 19.3 million L+35 multiplatform viewers per episode and became television’s #1 new series.
In addition to his breakout role on Yellowstone, White’s television credits include The Americans, House of Cards, The Alienist, Manhattan, Elementary, Blue Bloods and How to Get Away with Murder.
His film work includes Alex Garland’s Civil War alongside Kirsten Dunst and Eileen with Anne Hathaway. Upcoming projects include November 1963, in which he will portray Lee Harvey Oswald, as well as The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping and Rambo.
Marshals is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Spencer Hudnut, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Freidman, Luke Grimes and Keith Cox. Hudnut also serves as showrunner. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
Season two of Marshals premieres Sunday, October 4th at 8:30 PM ET/8:00 PM PT on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
