The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation is set to honor Andie MacDowell with one of its highest distinctions — the Icon Award — at the 51st Annual Gracie Awards Gala.

Taking place May 19 at the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, the ceremony will be hosted by Yvette Nicole Brown and feature a special performance from Mickey Guyton.

This isn’t just another career milestone — it’s recognition of a legacy.

The Gracies Icon Award is reserved for a woman whose influence extends far beyond the screen. It honors not just performances, but a body of work defined by authenticity, resilience, and cultural impact. MacDowell fits that description effortlessly.

From her breakout in Sex, Lies, and Videotape — which captured the Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or — to beloved roles in Groundhog Day and Four Weddings and a Funeral, MacDowell has long been a defining presence in film and television. More recently, she earned critical acclaim for her role in the Netflix limited series Maid, starring opposite her daughter Margaret Qualley, and continues to connect with audiences on Hallmark’s The Way Home.

But her impact goes beyond acting.

In 2025, MacDowell marked 40 consecutive years as a spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris, and sparked widespread conversation by embracing her natural silver hair on the red carpet — a powerful statement about aging, beauty, and visibility in Hollywood.

Hosting the evening is Brown, whose connection to the Gracie Awards runs deep. She previously won her first major acting honor for her role in Community, and returns this year not only as host, but also as a Gracie winner for her podcast Squeezed. Expect her to bring both heart and humor to a night centered on celebrating women in media.

Meanwhile, Guyton’s performance adds another layer to the evening. A four-time Grammy-nominated artist, she continues to break barriers in country music, becoming one of the most influential voices expanding the genre’s reach and representation.

At its core, the Gracie Awards are about more than recognition — they directly support the foundation’s mission to empower women in media through education, scholarships, and career development initiatives.

And this year’s ceremony feels especially meaningful. Honoring MacDowell isn’t just about celebrating a career — it’s about acknowledging a lasting cultural shift she helped shape.
