Daytime Emmy Awards: List of Daytime Soap Winners

This past Sunday, the 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, and presented its first ever livestream event. The ceremony, hosted by Kathy Griffin, brought back the classic clips that were featured in the acting categories. The winners in the acting categories stunned some folk, but excited others in the supporting and lead categories. Here are the list of the soap winners that took home the gold this weekend:

Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress:

Billy Miller (ex-Billy Abbott; “The Young and the Restless”)

Eileen Davidson (Kristen DiMera, “Days of our Lives”; Ashley Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”)

Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress:

Eric Martsolf (Brady Black, “Days of our Lives”)

Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman Abbott, “The Young and the Restless”)

Outstanding Younger Actor/Actress:

Chandler Massey (ex-Will Horton, “Days of our Lives”)

Hunter King (Summer Newman, “The Young and the Restless”)

Series Directing Team:

“One Life to Live”

Series Writing Team:

“The Young and the Restless”

Outstanding Drama Series:

“The Young and the Restless”

“The Young and the Restless” swept the awards with a total of SIX wins, including the Special Class Award for the Jeanne Cooper Tribute episode. This year marked the show’s eighth win in the Best Series category, and also took home three Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Friday, June 20.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” took home four Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which was more than any other soap, and “General Hospital” also took home two Creative Arts Awards, including Best Casting Director: Mark Teschner.

CBS Daytime dominated the award season by winning a total of 14 awards, including “Original Song” for “Let’s Make a Deal,” the first ever in its game show history.
