This past week, The Buzz attended the Paley Center for Media’s PaleyLive event, “Celebrating 20 Years of Shondaland,” which featured a conversation with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, James Pickens Jr., Conrad Ricamora, Bellamy Young, and Scott Foley. The panel was moderated by TODAY co-anchor Craig Melvin. The lineup spoke about some of their favorite moments from the Shondaland shows as well as behind-the-scenes secrets, including Pickens Jr. being the first AND only choice for the role of Richard Webber on “Grey’s Anatomy.” The Buzz had the opportunity to speak with the guests during the red carpet.
Bellamy Young portrayed Mellie Grant on this series, “Scandal,” which showcased Mellie’s rise from First Lady to the first woman U.S. President during the 7 season run. She shared fond memories of the cast and why the show remains popular to this day.
