This past week, The Buzz attended the Paley Center for Media’s PaleyLive event, “Celebrating 20 Years of Shondaland,” which featured a conversation with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, James Pickens Jr., Conrad Ricamora, Bellamy Young, and Scott Foley. The panel was moderated by TODAY co-anchor Craig Melvin. The lineup spoke about some of their favorite moments from the Shondaland shows as well as behind-the-scenes secrets, including Pickens Jr. being the first AND only choice for the role of Richard Webber on “Grey’s Anatomy.” The Buzz had the opportunity to speak with the guests during the red carpet.
James Pickens Jr. celebrates 20 years and 22 seasons as Richard Webber on the hit ABC series, “Grey’s Anatomy,” We spoke with him about one of our favorite episodes of the series, “Death and All His Friends,” which served as the season six finale. Hear his insights into that episode, as well as his thoughts on how the show continues to be a fixture after all this time. We also gave a nod to his “Roseanne” character, Chuck, and the episode that really stood out for his character.
