Lifetime is making room for another original scripted series to be added to its network. Deadline is reporting that the network has picked up the show, “Un-Real,” for a 10-episode order. The show stars Shiri Appleby, who fans recognize from her role on “Roswell,” as well as former “One Life to Live” star Josh Kelly.
Marti Noxon co-writes/executive produces for the dark comedy, which is based on the award-winning independent film, “Sequin Raze,” written by Sarah Gertrude Shapiro.
“Un-Real” takes a look at the behind-the-scenes world of a contestant game show, where a staffer tries to hoodwink them in order to get outlandish footage to air. While some of the situations prove humorous and docile, the others can prove to do more harm than good.
“Un-Real” is set to be produced by A&E Studios, and also stars Freddie Storma.
