Frank Grillo, who was known to many fans as the last Hart Jessup on CBS Daytime’s former soap, “Guiding Light,” has booked a lead role in a sequel to the movie, “The Purge.”
First reported by The Wrap, James DeMonaco is back to direct the sequel, and is slated to premiere sometime in June 2014. In the original movie, the government sanctioned a 12 hour period where any and all type of criminal activity became legal. Ethan Hawke portrayed James Sandin in the first movie, and the film took place in the year 2022.
Grillo was seen in such films as, “Warrior” and “Zero Dark Thirty.” The actor is set to appear in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” His last television credits included the short-lived ABC series, “The Gates.”
