As we gear up for the return of the Daytime Emmy Awards to television, expect to see some recognizable faces from daytime and primetime take stage.
This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Tyra Banks (“America’s Next Top Model), and fans can expect her to “push the envelope” just a bit, as she told PEOPLE in an interview.
Banks also goes on to tell PEOPLE that viewers can expect at least three things during the award show, one of which includes an “exciting opening number.”
“I’m excited to attempt an intro where people go, ‘Has she lost her mind?’ and then for them to go, ‘You know, she did lose her mind, and I enjoyed every minute of that craziness.’ “
Presenters include: Craig Ferguson, Shemar Moore, Daniel Goddard, Melissa Claire Egan, Justin Hartley, Ryan Paevey, Kirsten Storms, Steve Harvey, Nancy O’Dell, Regis Philbin, Guy Wilson, Freddie Smith, Christopher Sean, Jacob Young, Karly Mosley, Linsey Godfrey, Marie Osmond, Deidre Hall, and many more.
This year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Betty White. During her segment, see Betty do a special game of “Password” with some of her celebrity friends.
Fans also were given the opportunity this year to sit in the Red Carpet bleachers before the telecast, and 150 lucky fans get the chance to sit inside during the ceremony.
What do you think? Are you all excited for what’s to come this year?
