Our final interview during our HYDE coverage at Comic-Con is with Jason Forman, the VP of Infinitum Nihil. He reflected on his 20-year working relationship with Johnny Depp and how he would soon work together with Jesse Negron and Mechanical Cake.
Forman talked about how Depp got into character as Hyde during the photo shoot:
“Part of his process is if the wardrobe is there, he will sit with his make-up artist (Rocky Faulkner), and they spent hours on finding and creating this first iteration of Hyde. It’s such an interesting process. From that, that sort of informed the current imagery. So, they had it, I had gotten some of Johnny’s ideas from him verbally, so they worked that in. When Johnny finally got into character, then it informed the artwork of his look even more in the graphic novel.”
We continued our conversation on how he met Jesse Negron from Mechanical Cake and Tom Moran from Scott Free, and hear our thoughts on if we could see Depp take Hyde from the page and onto the screen.
