Daniel Goddard, who was known to many soap fans as Cane Ashby on, “The Young and the Restless,” announced on his Instagram that he is heading to Port Charles.
The actor hinted for several days that something was coming, and he posted a video to his page that he has joined the cast of ABC’s, “General Hospital,” in the role of Dalton.
TV Insider spoke with Goddard, and he mentioned that in an ironic twist, he initially read for Jack Brennan, and the role went to former “Y&R” co-star Chris McKenna. The show liked Goddard so much that the role of Professor Henry Dalton was created for him.

So far, Goddard has interacted with Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) and Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks). Aside from McKenna, other “Y&R” reunions include Genie Francis, Steve Burton, and Maura West.
