The 30th Anniversary of the Anti-Defamation League’s, “In Concert Against Hate,” took place on Monday, November 18th, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. This event honored every day heroes who took extraordinary acts to stand up against hate and bigotry.
Grammy winning artist Joanie Leeds stopped by to chat with us about her reaction to being asked to attend this concert event. Leeds, who won the Grammy for a children’s album, also talked to us about how kids are impressionable that any type of hatred is learned in the home and what we can do to stop hatred. Another topic of the conversation we discussed was the difference between full support in allyship and how silent allyship does not constitute standing up against hate.
