In a move that has surprised many soap fans, Deadline reports that Krista Allen has been let go from the CBS Daytime soap, “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The actress was informed back in October that her contract would not be renewed.
Allen, who just celebrated two years of playing the iconic role of Dr. Taylor Hayes, is also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award. The role originally was portrayed by Hunter Tylo, stemming back to 1990. Tylo would play this character off and on until 2019. Allen’s take on the Taylor character got so much positive fanfare that fans were clamoring her return, as she had not been seen much on the show since late April.
The actress, after returning to X from a brief hiatus to chat with fans, tells Deadline:
“The craziest thing is right before I got dropped, I did the cast photo shoot, and then the next week they called and said, ‘we’re not going to keep your third year and thank you very much, you were wonderful and thank you, goodbye,” Allen tells Deadline. “And I was like, what?”
The article continues to mention that Allen is plans to move to Atlanta, GA, after making her Daytime Emmy Award appearance.
