Maya’s parents are heading to Los Angeles, and the drama is going to get even hotter for the Avant sisters. “The Bold and the Beautiful” has cast veteran actors Anna Maria Horsford and Obba Babatundé in the roles of Vivienne and Julius Avant, TV Insider’s Michael Logan reports. The parents head to town in the search for Maya’s younger sister, Nicole, to usher her out of town.

Horsford previews what can be expected from Maya’s distant parents:

“This reunion of the Avant family has opened my heart on so many level. I personally know several transgender people but I never really thought of things from the parents’ perspective. The audience has heard Maya’s point of view about what went on in the family. Now it’s time to get Mom and Dad’s side of things! Maya may think her parents never loved her, but that’s her perception.”

Babatundé, a Tony Award nominee, had stints on other soaps including, “All My Children,” “One Life to Live, and “The Young and the Restless.” Horsford is known to many television audiences for her roles on “Amen” and “The Wayans Bros.”

Look for Horsford to first appear on “B&B” on Friday, July 3rd, and for Babatundé to follow suit on Thursday, July 9th, for at least 15 episodes.
