After months of trying to locate the perfect person to play the missing Victor Newman, Jr., it seems that the soap finally found its man. Justin Hartley, who may daytime soap fans will remember from “Passions” as Fox Crane, has been officially announced to portray Adam Newman on the CBS Daytime soap, “The Young and the Restless.”
TV Guide’s Michael Logan reported the news that Hartley will first begin taping in September, and will first air in time for November sweeps. The actor released a statement:
“I’m so pumped about joining Y&R — I watch it all the time and can’t wait to get in there and get my hands dirty! I have great respect for daytime drama. I love the branding. I love the style. What can I say? I love good soap!”
Hartley’s most recent gig was on the primetime summer ABC series, “Mistresses.” He previously had roles on “Smallville,” and most notably on “Revenge” as Victoria Grayson’s long-lost son.
