CBS Daytime is welcoming back a long lost member of the Winters family. Shemar Moore will be reprising his role of Malcolm Winters on “The Young and the Restless,” a role he originated in 1994. He would play the character until 2002, while also hosting the music program, “Soul Train,” and would later return for a short stint from 2004-2005.

While the role was most recently played by Darius McCrary, Moore is set to appear in two episodes to catch up what has been going on in Genoa City and explaining his harsh, quick exit from town, TV Line reports.

Moore reveals in a statement:

“I am excited about returning to The Young and the Restless as a special guest. This is where I got my start, and I am looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family.”

The actor can be currently seen on the hit CBS primetime series, “Criminal Minds.” Look for Shemar Moore to appear on “Y&R” September 10 and 11, 2014.
