We continue our Comic-Con coverage of HYDE as we are joined by former Marvel Studios Sr. Designer, Anthony Francisco. He spoke with us about how he came to work with Mechanical Cake and how his design work at Marvel helped shape HYDE.

Francisco worked at Marvel Studios for nine years, with his design work appearing in such movies including, “Thor: Ragnarok,” “LOKI,” and, “Black Panther.” Coming from an established base with Marvel, we asked him if this new venture with Mechanical Cake and HYDE will build up a following, especially as Johnny Depp and Ridley Scott are behind it:

“I think so. I have been a fan of Johnny’s since ’21 Jump Street.’ When I posted this collaboration on my Instagram, with the article snapshot and these guys as partners, it got up to 10,000 views in 15 minutes.”

We both continued expressing our fandom over Depp, and we also got into Francisco’s departure from the Marvel space and why it proved to be the best, yet scary, decision.
