After months of crossing paths through Christmas movies, conventions, and conversations that somehow never quite lined up, Andrew Walker finally joined The BUZZ—and it was absolutely worth the wait.
We even showed up nearly twinning. Completely unplanned. One of us just needed a black shirt, the other blue. We’ll get it right next time.
While Andrew is widely known for his Hallmark work, my connection to him didn’t begin with Christmas movies. It began with Skin Mason, his skincare brand, which entered my life at a moment when everything I previously used stopped working. Post-COVID reformulations, irritation, and sensitivity issues left my skin worse than before—until Skin Mason changed that.
Andrew explained that Skin Mason was built on two guiding principles: simplicity and efficacy. Created alongside his partner, Dr. Hussein Tanji—a heart and lung surgeon deeply involved in health, wellness, and longevity—the goal was never a complicated, time-consuming routine. It was about results you could trust, without a 15-step process.
The brand launched with three hero products: exfoliating cleansing pads, a serum, and a moisturizer. What began as a men’s skincare concept quickly evolved into something much bigger. Andrew revealed that roughly 70% of Skin Mason’s customers are now women, largely driven by real-world results and word-of-mouth.
One of the most refreshing parts of our conversation was honesty around expectations. Skin Mason isn’t about overnight miracles. Andrew described it as a longevity skincare brand, where visible improvements typically appear within two to three weeks—a timeline that aligned exactly with my own experience, especially as someone with sensitive skin.
We also talked Christmas Con—where Skin Mason conversations were happening in line, tequila bottles made surprise appearances, and fans genuinely connected over shared experiences. Andrew spoke about upcoming Skin Mason minis, travel-friendly products, and the brand’s ongoing work toward a clean SPF designed for all skin tones.
Beyond skincare, we covered acting—from Andrew’s debut on Are You Afraid of the Dark? (a revelation that instantly sent me into SNICK nostalgia) to working with Lacey Chabert, taking creative swings within Hallmark, and the real friendship behind the Three Wise Men films.
Most meaningful, though, was Andrew’s reflection on the fans. Nurses, teachers, hospice workers—people carrying heavy emotional loads who turn to these movies for comfort and joy. He made it clear: that support is never taken for granted.
This conversation wasn’t just overdue. It was genuine, thoughtful, and full of heart—exactly what The BUZZ is about.
