The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards is set to make a bold move this year. The ceremony, which has taken place in June in recent years, will now be held in October. This move also will shift the News and Documentary Awards to June instead of in the fall.

This move, per the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS), is to make the News & Documentary Emmys more timely as the content being recognized is time sensitive. While the Daytime Emmy Awards also focuses on calendar years, moving the show to October grants NATAS more time to find a home to broadcast the ceremony. CBS’ two-year agreement ended in 2024, and the network is not expected to renew that partnership.

More details surrounding the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy and Creative Arts Awards will be announced at a later date. Stay tuned to THE BUZZ for more details.
