The BUZZ had the chance to attend a special presentation of, “Hot Ones,” at the Paley Center for Media Museum in New York City. The series, which is in its 24th season, celebrates 350 episodes on YouTube. Hosted by Sean Evans, “Hot Ones” features celebrity guests being interviewed while eating spicy hot wings. During the course of the interview, you get to see how each celebrity fares with the different level of hotness with each wing. The show is not only entertaining, but probably makes you want to have a plate of wings after each airing.
Guests were treated to an advanced screening of their newest episode with guest Heidi Klum. I will say…definitely watch this one! You will not be disappointed. Following the presentation, we were treated to a panel discussion moderated by Seth Meyers, who actually was a guest on, “Hot Ones,” in 2015. During the discussion, we learned some behind the scenes tidbits, such as the crew being flown to Hawaii, celebrities sliding into Evans’ DM’s to be on the series, and which celebs had an intense reaction to the hot sauce! They also shared some of their favorite moments from the show, one of which included Aubrey Plaza snorting milk out of her nose, and they even spoke about having the show be spoofed by “SNL.”
Over 2.5 billion minutes of, “Hot Ones,” was watched by viewers and will be celebrating 10 years in 2025. It was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2022 for “Talk Show Entertainment,” and in 2021 for, “Entertainment Talk Show Host.” The series is petitioning to run in the 76th Emmy Awards for, “Outstanding Talk Series,” category.
