The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) recently announced that music artist Sia will be performing at their annual benefit, “In Concert Against Hate.” This marks the 30th anniversary of the concert benefit which honors every day heroes taking a stand against hate.
CEO Jonathan Greenblatt released this statement following the news of Sia performing:
“Sia believes in the power of music to overcome hate and spread love, and as an organization dedicated to securing justice and fair treatment, so do we. We’re thrilled to have Sia joining us for an uplifting evening of music and inspiring stories as we honor everyday heroes who have taken a stand against hate.”
This year’s host for the event is Ben Stiller, who also is the UNHCR (The UN Refugee Agency) Goodwill Ambassador. The actor, known for his roles in, “Zoolander,” “Meet the Parents,” and “There’s Something About Mary,” also spoke out against hate on his X account:
Growing up in NY I was sheltered from most #antisemitism. Today what is happening- the recent 400 percent spike — is undeniable and incredibly disturbing and has to be called out and denounced by institutions and individuals. https://t.co/6EVsA57nVs
