Daytime Emmy nominated actor, Tequan Richmond, has been cast in an untitled SHOWTIME drama pilot, which is written and executive produced by Lena Waithe of “Dear White People.” Deadline reports that the hour-long drama will be set in Chicago, and Elwood Reid (“The Bridge”) will helm as executive producer.
Richmond has been cast in the role of Emmett, a teen who is the father of three children by three different women. While Emmett believes his looks is what makes the man, he will soon discover that it is not all it takes to be one.
Fans may remember Richmond from his role on the hit sitcom, “Everybody Hates Chris.” Currently, he can be seen in the role of TJ Ashford on ABC’s “General Hospital.”
The pilot is set to film sometime later this year in Chicago.
