Marlene Forte stars as Carmen Ramos on the TNT series, “DALLAS.” The show, which is a reboot of the CBS drama of the same name, will air the second half of the third season later this summer, and will feature a story that will heavily focus on the Ramos family.
Forte’s character, Carmen, is the mother of Elena Ramos, played by Jordana Brewster. The beginning of the season saw Elena working with Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval) to take down the Ewing family. We spoke with Marlene about possible teasers coming up during the second half of the season:
“I can say that you will see a lot more of Carmen, as well as the Ramos’ in general. There is so much scandal and revenge coming your way. It’s so many twists and turns, and hang on. There are only 5-7 episodes left, and it is fast furious. It’s not enough, trust me, for a lot of stuff coming down the pike. I don’t know what Cynthia (Cidre) and Michael (M. Robin) for, God willing, the fourth season. Carmen is going to have to really grow, I think. In the end, Carmen is a very religious and faithful woman, and I think she will not lose faith for her family. I can tell you there are very difficult times coming ahead.”
We spoke more with Marlene Forte about how she began her acting career at the age of 30, and the process to get there. She also spoke about working with Phillip Seymour Hoffman, as well as Larry Hagman, who played the nefarious J.R. Ewing on both the original and reboot up until his passing.
The second half of season three of “DALLAS” premieres Monday, August 18, 2014 at 9/8c on TNT.
