As a shock to many daytime soap fans, and months after it was announced Alison Sweeney was departing “Days of our Lives,” James Scott has just finished taping at the NBC soap on May 2. The actor first joined the show in 2006 as Elvis “EJ” DiMera after leaving “All My Children” as Ethan Cambias.
Soap Opera Digest posted an exclusive statement from the actor about his departure:
“I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to NBC, Sony and Corday, particularly Ken Corday, for the amazing 8 year run on Days of our Lives and for graciously supporting me in my decision in leaving the show to take personal time. To the unbelievably loving fans, I can’t begin to express my gratitude for your love and support over the years. I will miss you immensely.”
So, what does that mean for EJ/Sami? Will they leave together, or something else will happen? As “DAYS” tapes months in advance, expect to see James Scott on screen throughout the summer until early October.
