Following the news of Ruby Rose’s departure from the CW series, “Batwoman,” TV Line broke news the story behind the shocking exit.
Initially, it seemed that Rose wanted to leave the show on her own accord. However, that apparently was not the case. According to a source close to the freshmen series, they tell TV Line:
“It wasn’t 100-percent her decision. It was a breakup. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned, if they parted ways. It just wasn’t a good fit.”
The insider tells the online entertainment website that Rose was, “distressed,” by the long hours that was needed for a lead role. Also, the actress was not adjusting to life in Vancouver well, which is where “Batwoman” films. This marked Rose’s first role as a lead, following arcs on, “Orange is the New Black,” and in the “Arrowverse” 2018 crossover as the Scarlet Knight.
“Batwoman” was announced for a second season renewal this week, and will premiere in 2021. The role of Kate Kane/Batwoman will be recast.
