Brandon Beemer looks to be heading back to Salem sooner than expected. The actor has returned to taping at NBC’s “Days of our Lives” as Shawn-Douglas Brady, according to Daytime Confidential. The website was the first to mention about his firing from the show just a few months ago. However, a source at DC says that co-headwriter Dena Higley did not factor in his new contract cycle.
“They made a mistake with Brandon. They tried to fire him when he was just a few days into a new cycle. They would have had to pay him out for 26 weeks or use him, so they’re using him.”
Ironically, this is not the first time a soap has done this. Several years ago on “The Young and the Restless,” actress Nia Peeples was let go, but learned she could not be fired as she just started her next 26-week cycle. The show then had to write her in storylines to find use for Peeples’ character, only for her to leave after her next cycle was up.
With Shawn-D returning to Salem, could Belle be that far behind?
