After appearing at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Ryan Reynolds is set to tour across the U.S. and Canada to promote the documentary, John Candy: I Like Me. Fans can expect members of Candy’s inner circle of family and friends to make appearances along with Reynolds during the tour. The Q&A session following the screening of the film will be moderated by Dan Pasternak and Kevin McCarthy.
In a statement that was sent to The Hollywood Reporter, Reynolds said:
“Movies bring people together and millions of people came together to watch John Candy. I am so excited to share our film on a big screen and to share the stage with some of the people who knew him best as they share their memories of the man.”
The Deadpool actor also added that he was honored that proceeds from the tour will help support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

• Oct. 5 – Chicago – The Chicago Theatre in partnership with Chicago Underground Film Festival and The Second City
• Oct. 6 – Toronto – Queen Elizabeth Theatre in partnership with the Toronto Argonauts
• Oct. 8 – Brooklyn, N.Y. – Kings Theatre in partnership with the Tribeca Festival and the Second City
• Oct. 14 – Boston – Shubert Theatre in partnership with the Independent Film Festival of Boston
John Candy: I Like Me is presented by Clearly Canadian and co-produced by Mills Entertainment and Reynolds’ Maximum Effort in partnership with the doc’s distributor Amazon MGM Studios.
Tickets for the tour go on sale on Wednesday, September 10th, with pre-sale happening right now.
The documentary is set to be officially released on Prime Video on October 10th, and is directed by Colin Hanks.
