Marla Gibbs Interview: ‘Mildred 4 a Million’ Star Shares Insights on BuzzWorthy Radio

Our final episode from premiere week has landed at The BUZZ, and we had the pleasure to sit down and speak with the legendary Marla Gibbs. The Emmy Award nominated actress is known for her breakout roles on, “The Jeffersons,” and, “227.” Now, Gibbs returns in the short independent film, “Mildred 4 a Million.” The story follows a grandmother who is on a mission to get 1 million followers on TikTok.

Joining us in the conversation was Kimmie Callaway, and she spoke with us about how she came up with the concept of this short film, which stems from many of us on our phones all day and not having a conversation with the person right in front of us. Gibbs, who sang the ending song during the credits, took us through how and when the song was recorded in 2006 with her even pushing through after having an aneurysm.

We also got to speak with her about reuniting with Jackee Harry, who played Sandra Clark on the NBC sitcom, when she appeared on the Peacock soap, “Days of our Lives.”

This was such a touching film that will speak and resonate with everyone of all ages.
