Character actress Diane Delano is arriving to Port Charles! As former “As The World Turns” star, Trent Dawson, sets to appear on “General Hospital” this month, fans will see Huxley (Dawson’s character on “GH”) and his assistant.
Delano plays the role of Margarethe, and had to go to co-head writer Jean Passanante to figure out how to pronounce the character’s name. She tells Soap Digest:
“I actually reached out to [Co-Head Writer] Jean Passanante on Facebook to find out how the name is pronounced. She said, ‘You know the song, “How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?” [from The Sound of Music] — Sister Margaretta, that’s what I want it to sound like.’ So, right before I had to say the line, I was hurrying to find the song on YouTube!”
Delano is known for her many television roles, ranging from “St. Elsewhere,” “Northern Exposure,” and “Popular.” She recently appeared as Agent Hilda on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.”
In 2012, Delano won the “Indie Series Award” for “Best Supporting Actress: Comedy,” as Shara Rose on, “Fumbling Thru the Pieces.”
