Daytime Confidential’s Jamey Giddens first put the word out that a recast for Kelly Andrews may have been in the works as the current portrayer’s pilot was picked up by MTV. TV Guide’s Michael Logan confirms that Cynthia Watros will be leaving “The Young and the Restless” for the Atlanta-based “Finding Carter” series, and Cady McClain will take on the role.

McClain, who is known to soap audiences for her Emmy winning roles of Dixie Cooney Martin on “All My Children” and Rosanna Cabot on “As The World Turns,” is set to begin taping on March 26, and will first air on April 24. Watros will last air on the show April 16.

TV Guide also reports that a recast was mandatory as the show is planning on pairing Kelly with Jack Abbott, played by Peter Bergman. McClain and Bergman were former “AMC” co-stars as he played the role of Dr. Cliff Warner from 1979-1989.
