“The Young and the Restless” to Air Classic Episodes Celebrating Daytime Emmys!

As we gear toward the Daytime Emmy Awards, which is set to air on CBS on Friday, June 26th, “The Young and the Restless” will be doing a celebration of its own.

Beginning next week, “Y&R” will air classic episodes featuring Daytime Emmy winning performances from some of its cast. The episodes featured are the shows that won the actor/actress the coveted statuette. Here is a brief look at what fans can expect to see starting June 22nd:

Monday June, 22, 2020- Episode #2874 (OAD: 6/27/84)

(Beth Maitland won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her performance in this episode. Beth was the very first Y&R actor to win a Daytime Emmy Award.)

Traci (Beth Maitland) is rescued by Danny (Michael Damian) and Cricket (Lauralee Bell), Nikki’s plan to reunite Victor (Eric Braeden) and his estranged mother, Cora (Dorothy McgGuire) backfires and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) faces off against Gina Roma (Patti Weaver).

Tuesday, June 23, 2020- Episode #6082 (OAD: 3/19/97)

(Eric Braeden won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor for his performance in this episode.)

Victor (Eric Braeden)  makes a fresh start with Hope (Signy Coleman) and Adam, Malcolm (Shemar Moore) comforts Drucilla (Victoria Rowell) and viewers are introduced to Cassie (Camryn Grimes).

Wednesday, June 24, 2020-Episode #8496 (OAD: 10/16/06)

(Bryton James won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in this episode.)

Devon (Bryton James) struggles with his hearing loss, Jill (Jess Walton) and Jack (Peter Bergman) fight for control at Jabot, and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) crosses the line to help Brad (Don Diamont).

Thursday, June 25, 2020- Episode #4738 (OAD: 11/15/91)

Jack (Peter Bergman) makes a confession about his marriage to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Dina (Marla Adams) makes amends with John (Jerry Douglas), and Jill (Jess Walton) has a special assignment for Paul (Doug Davidson) and Nathan (Nathan Purdee).

Friday, June 26, 2020- Episode #6673 (7/19/99)

Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) are awarded custody of Cassie (Camryn Grimes), Cole (J. Eddie Peck) romances Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) helps Victor (Eric Braeden) protect Newman Enterprises.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays on CBS Daytime.

The 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards airs Friday, June 26th, at 8 PM ET on CBS, hosted by the ladies of, “The Talk.”
