Alicia Coppola is back om the soap scene. Soap Digest reports that the actress has joined the cast of “The Young and the Restless.” Coppola will be playing the role of Dr. Meredith Gates. She gave Digest some initial reactions to the role when it was first introduced:

“In those 10 pages that I read, it was a really fully fleshed-out female character. I haven’t really read something like that in a long time, something that was so dynamic and interesting that I automatically saw a backstory. She reminds me of Lorna. She feels things very deeply, and I just think there’s a lot more going on than what’s on the surface. I like that.

Coppola originated the role of Lorna Devon, the daughter of Felicia Gallant, on “Another World,” in 1991. She would depart the show in 1994. Her other television credits include, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Teen Wolf,” and former host of MTV’s “Remote Control.” Coppola joins former “AW” cast member Jensen Buchanan at the CBS Daytime soap.

Look for Alicia Coppola to maker her debut on “Y&R” on April 13, 2016.
