The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are less than two weeks away. The stars will be out to shine on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, for the ceremony. As there wasn’t a deal made for the event to air on television this year, the show will stream online for the first time at http://daytimeemmys.net

In a recent interview with Soaps in Depth, David Michaels, the Senior Executive Director of the Daytime Emmy Awards for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, spoke about the first livestream for the ceremony. It is expected to run straight-through, no commercials, and will introduce all 24 categories in the two-hour event.

It was recently reported at Daytime Confidential that the cable network TVGN offered NATAS a $1 million budget to air the Daytime Emmys on the channel this year. Michaels stated that it is for next year, and believes it will be back on television by that point.

Fans have wanted clips to be shown in the broadcast, which were lax in recent years. Michaels did express that he spoken to the production company about airing actor clips, but will show more video in this year’s show than last year.

The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be produced by Spike Jones, Jr., and SJ2 Entertainment, and Terry Peterson, Owner and Artistic Director of Verite Productions, Inc. Handling all the social media aspects for the Daytime Emmys will be Paul Colichman and HERE Media.

What are your thoughts on the fact that the show will be online versus a television network? Will you watch online?
