In a post that was announced on his official Instagram page, Daniel Goddard informed his fans that he was let go from, “The Young and the Restless.” Goddard joined the cast at the end of 2016 portraying the role of Cane Ashby.

The actor had this to express to his fans:

The character of Cane has been through the ringer since his debut in 2007, including conning his way into the Chancellor family. In 2009, Cane was revealed to not be a Chancellor, and was exposed when the real Phillip Chancellor came back to Genoa City alive.

In 2011, fans were in an uproar when the actor was let go, causing a campaign to get Goddard back on the show. The campaign garnered such a huge response, “Y&R” brought Goddard and Cane back to the canvas by introducing his real family. Also, the show made Cane a twin, and that was who was initially killed on the steps.

What do you think on the latest “Y&R” casting decision. Could Cane have survived Genoa City without Lily?

Let us know your thoughts.

  1. I myself will not miss Cane’s character I think the writers on The Bold and the Beautiful are terrible for trying to give him Devon’s inheritance however since hearing that he will be departing the show hopefully that means Devon will be keeping his inheritance it is ludicrous for anyone to think that Catherine would give someone who’s not even a blood relative all of her money I hope you seriously are not trying to take Devon’s money writers and for the people that like Cane no harm intended I just don’t like him like you do.
