In a move that will stun many daytime fans, Angelica McDaniel, EVP, Daytime Programs, CBS Entertainment, is leaving the eye network after nine years. Deadline reports that the daytime team is being folded into the Current Programming department, which is headed by Amy Reisenbach.

A similar structure is currently being handled by the alphabet network, as ABC’s Vicki Drummer oversees all scripted series in all dayparts.

During her tenure, McDaniel was able to brand and cross-promote the entire CBS Daytime lineup, which she oversaw. For over 32 years, CBS Daytime has been #1, and many stars from it’s two remaining soaps, “The Young and the Restless,” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” have made guest appearances on, “Let’s Make a Deal,” “The Price is Right,” and, “The Talk.” Talk and game show hosts even made their way into guest appearances on the daytime dramas.

In a statement that was released to Deadline, President of CBS Entertainment, Kelly Kahl, had this to say:

“Angelica McDaniel championed our daytime series line up with creativity, passion and energy and broke new ground by helping launch the Network’s first daytime talk show in years while respecting the long history and tradition of the dramas and game shows. We appreciate her many contributions and wish her well on her next endeavors.”

McDaniel joined the CBS team in 2010, and her last day, according to reports, was today.
