Cynthia Watros Guides Her Way to “General Hospital”

Fan favorite Cynthia Watros is heading back to daytime once again. The Daytime Emmy winner will be taking over the role of Nina Clay Cassadine on, “General Hospital.” Currently, the character of Nina is being played by Michelle Stafford.

PEOPLE first reported the news of this latest casting, and was previously reported that Stafford is set to return to, “The Young and the Restless.” Watros began her daytime television roots by portraying the popular Annie Dutton on, “Guiding Light.” The actress won the Emmy for, “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series,” in 1998. After leaving “GL” that year, she would then fill in temporarily for Jensen Buchanan on, “Another World,” as Vicky McKinnon.

Watros would also find success in primetime television, with roles on such shows including, “Titus,” “LOST,” “The Drew Carey Show,” and “Finding Carter.” Watros returned to daytime in 2013 as Kelly Andrews on “Y&R.”

The actress will begin taping at “GH” early June.
