Matt Cohen Exits “General Hospital”

After a three year stint on ABC’s lone soap, Matt Cohen has exited the role of Dr. Griffin Munro. The actor, who sat down with TV Insider, discussed his reasoning as to why he left “General Hospital.”

“I did three years at the show. It was a great time and I had great fun playing the character, but I’m a guy who gets uncomfortable when he gets comfortable. I need to give Griffin a little rest right now.”

Griffin came to Port Charles to help others, and is now leaving town as a broken man. After a failed relationship with Ava Jerome, he then finds love with her daughter, Kiki. However, he would lose her after she was murdered by serial killer, Ryan Chamberlain.

Now, Cohen is definitely not leaving broken. He has plenty of work on his plate going forward. The actor has directed a short film entitled, “Mama Bear,” which starred his wife, Mandy Musgrave.

Cohen’s departure was left open-ended, which could lead for a future possible return for Griffin.

The actor last aired as Dr. Griffin Munro on Friday, March 22nd.
