CBS Daytime is set to celebrate Melody Thomas Scott in a big way! This week marks the actress’ 40th year at the #1 daytime soap, “The Young and the Restless,” and the network will give fans two days to commemorate her portrayal of Nikki Reed Newman.
Thomas Scott began playing the role of Nicole Reed in 1979, and has been involved in numerous storylines that kept fans tuned to their screens. Some of those stories included Nikki killing her father, being involved in a cult, and most notably, working as a stripper! This eventually would lead to the infamous pairing of Nikki and Victor Newman, and the two had an on and off again relationship for decades!
A pill-popping alcoholic, Nikki also had her fair share of love in the right, and wrong, places. She birthed two children, Victoria and Nicholas, with the love of her life, with the latter being involved in a “Who’s the Daddy” story. She has been shot multiple times, fell off a horse, and married numerous times in Genoa City. However, Nikki always finds her way back to Victor.
This Monday, February 18th, “The Talk” will celebrate 40 years of Melody as Nikki during the telecast.
Then, on Wednesday, February 20th, “Y&R” will showcase a stand-alone Nikki episode celebrating 40 years, which is set to feature clips that has not been seen since her first airing.
“The Talk” airs at 2 PM ET/11 AM PT, and “The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays on CBS Daytime and weeknights on Pop.
