Jordi Vilasuso Joins Cast of “The Young and the Restless”

A mystery man may be coming to Genoa City, but the actor is certainly no mystery to daytime! Jordi Vilasuso has been cast in the role of, “Rey,” on CBS Daytime’s, “The Young and the Restless.”

Soap Digest first broke word of Vilasuso’s incoming, and it also returns him to the CBS Daytime family. The actor began work in soaps on, “Guiding Light,” as Tony Santos. He would win a Daytime Emmy Award for Younger Actor for this role. Vilasuso wouldn’t turn up on soaps until a few years later, when he played the role of Dr. Griffin Castillo on, “All My Children,” on both ABC and Hulu.

Also on Hulu, Vilasuso played Isaac Santero on the drama, “South Beach.” Most recently, the actor played Dario Hernandez on NBC’s, “Days of our Lives.”

Vilasuso took to his Instagram to share the news and thank the fans for his welcome to the “Y&R” family:

What brings Rey to town? Fans will have to tune in to, “The Young and the Restless,” to find out! Look for Jordi Vilasuso to first begin airing on Friday, August 17th.
