Burgess Jenkins, who took over the role of Billy Abbott on CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless,” has been reportedly released from the show, according to Daytime Confidential.

Jenkins began playing the role of Billy in 2014, and this is the second actor to take it on after Billy Miller’s departure. Prior to Jenkins, David Tom came back to the role in January 2014, and was on-screen for six months.

Jason Thompson, who just recently announced his exit from “General Hospital,” is one of the actors they are looking at to play the part, but no deal has been reached as of now. According to DC, there may be another plastic surgery story in place to explain the difference of looks between Jenkins and Thompson.

What do you think of this latest casting news? Was it expected? Who would you like to see as Billy Abbott?

  1. Enough already with the plastic surgery plotlines. It’s so absurd it makes me feel like I’m watching science fiction.

  2. He won’t be missed never liked him not a good actor. I want Billy Miller back on!!!! No Plastic surgery stuff to unbelievable new script all together. Get some new stories and some good news to someone! love me YR

  3. The fans will not be pleased, no matter who takes the role. They only want Billy Miller and they aren’t getting him. Burgess was such an improvement over David Tom. I thought he was okay as Billy. Not great but as good as anyone else could have done. Plastic surgery is rediculous. Just recast. We are not children!
