On October 12, 2015, daytime television icon Kelly Ripa received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ripa currently co-hosts “LIVE with Kelly and Michael,” alongside Michael Strahan. Aside from hosting the hit talk show, Ripa has had an extensive career as an actress.

Ripa first began her career in television back in 1987, when she was seen as a dancer on the USA series, “Dance Party USA.” It was not until November 1990 where Ripa would get noticed when she made her debut as Hayley Vaughn on “All My Children.” First showing up in Pine Valley in a black wig and decked out black clothing, Hayley would become a character fans loved. During her twelve year stint on the show, Ripa would later meet the love of her life, Mark Conseulos, and the two have been together ever since. The actress was honored with three Daytime Emmy nominations for her work as Hayley, including “Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series” in 1993 and “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” in 1999 and 2002.

In 2001, Ripa would get an even bigger break of a lifetime when she was announced as co-host on “LIVE with Regis and Kathy Lee,” taking over when Kathy Lee Gifford left the show. A year later, Ripa, along with Conseulos, said goodbye to Pine Valley as the two exited “AMC.” Soon after, she would star in the ABC sitcom, “Hope & Faith,” about an Emmy winning soap actress who was fired from her job and had to start fresh again…only, she could not hang up her former glorious life. Ripa would return to “AMC” for a cameo in 2010 coinciding with the show’s 40th anniversary.

“LIVE with Regis and Kelly” won Daytime Emmy Awards for “Outstanding Talk Show Host” in 2011 and 2012. This year, “LIVE with Kelly and Michael” won the Daytime Emmy for “Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.”

The ceremony was held in front of El Capitan Theatre, and was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Joel McHale. To watch the ceremony, click on the video below:
