Shortly after Ron Carlivati’s release from headwriting duties at ABC Daytime’s “General Hospital,” Daytime Confidential is now reporting that Kate Hall, one of the show’s script writers, is now joining the writing staff at “The Young and the Restless.” Hall, who had been at the ABC soap since 2011, will once again work with head writer Charles Pratt, Jr. The two previously worked together when he was head writer on “All My Children.”

Hall’s other writing credits include the SOAPnet “GH” spin-off, “General Hospital: Night Shift.” Most fans may not realize that her father is known to many soap fans. The actor is Peter Simon, who played Ed Bauer on “Guiding Light.” Her mother, Courtney Simon, is also recognized for her work on soaps as an actress and for her writing credits.

What do you think of the latest transition?
