Roger Howarth has landed a recurring role on the new CW series, “The Flash.” According to Deadline, Howarth is set to play Mason Bridge, an award winning reporter from Central City Picture News. Upcoming journalist Iris West (Candice Patton) is set to shadown Bridge, but that relationship takes a turn when he begins to investigate Barry Allen’s mentor, Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanaugh).

Howarth currently portrays the role of Franco on the ABC Daytime show, “General Hospital.” He previously recurred on the Showtime series, “Californication.” “GH” executive producer, Frank Valentini, issued a statement regarding Howarth’s new role:

“We are thrilled for Roger and this opportunity. Fans can rest assure he is not off the show, as the timing for this role worked out so that he can shoot during our current “GH” hiatus.”

Howarth also gained popularity with fans for his role on both “GH” and “One Life to Live” as Todd Manning, who coincidentally, also owned a newspaper publication called “The Sun.”

Look for Roger Howarth to air on “The Flash” later this fall.

“General Hospital” airs weekdays on ABC Daytime.
